All Elite Wrestling (AEW) was back live at Daily’s Place for their New Year’s Smash special Dynamite. AEW announced a loaded show for their final Dynamite of 2021 and they looked to bring in the new year in style.
A big part of the show would be the return to the commentary booth of Jim Ross after he won his battle with skin cancer! As for the matchups, we would see a TBS Championship semi-final match between Thunder Rosa and Jade Cargill and The Lucha Bros teamed up with Christian Cage, Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus to face Matt Hardy, Private Party and FTR.
Also announced were Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz against Daniel Garcia and 2point0 and finally announced was the AEW debut of Kyle O’Reilly as he teamed with Adam Cole and Bobby Fish against Orange Cassidy and Best Friends.
As always the Diffusing Dynamite team of Joseph Casciaro and Gavin Axelrod have you covered for all things AEW!
Jurassic Express coming for gold

The opening match of Dynamite was the massive 10 man tag match with Lucha Bros teaming with Jurassic Express and Christian Cage against Matt Hardy, FTR and Private Party. The focus point of this match was the problems arising between Jurassic Express and The Lucha Bros.
It began when Luchasaurus was on fire, but Penta El Zero M tagged himself in. Penta then gained momentum and was set up for the finish, when Cage returned the favour and tagged himself in this time.
Cage and Penta then began shoving which allowed FTR to push Cage into Penta and hit Cage with the Big Rig to steal the win. This led to the announcement of Lucha Bros vs Jurassic Express next week for the AEW World Tag Team Championships!
Santana & Ortiz have lots of friends

On New Year’s Smash, there was a trios match between Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz against Daniel Garcia and 2point0. In the match, we saw quite the upset when Garcia and 2point0 stole the win with a dirty roll-up.
However, post-match the beatdown was on and it ended with Garcia hitting Santana between the eyes with the ring bell. This drew out from the back Chris Jericho to make the save, which Kingston did not like.
Jericho and Kingston then went nose-to-nose and Kingston was screaming why are you here? Seems like Kingston now has a bone to pick with Jericho.

AEW had the final semi-final match in the TBS tournament tonight between Jade Cargill and Thunder Rosa. It was a very competitive match until Jade distracted the referee and Rosa was struck in the head by a masked person on the outside.
This allowed Jade to steal a win and advance to the finals, but Rosa was angry and tried to attack Jade post-match. The masked person then returned to beat down Rosa some more, this person would reveal themself as Mercedes Martinez.
Ruby Soho then came running out to make the save, but Mercedes Martinez is now All Elite!
Superkliq is fine

Since Kyle O’Reilly's debut on AEW last week everyone has been wondering if the Superkliq will be able to coexist. People seem to think Adam Cole will have to choose between The Young Bucks and ReDragon.
In the main event, Cole was teaming with ReDragon against Orange Cassidy and Best Friends. Near the finish, of the match, we saw some miscommunication when O’Reilly accidentally kicked Cole off the apron.
The rest of the Superkliq then got involved with Brandon Cutler distracting the referee and The Young Bucks superkicking Best Friends. ReDragon was then able to get the finish and the win, but post-match tensions continued to rise.
The Bucks helped Cole up after the kick from O’Reilly and Cole stood on the apron with them looking at Fish and O’Reilly in the ring.
